The City of Houston has entered Stage One of the City's Drought Contingency Plan, effective Tuesday June 21, 2022. Please see press release here.
Stage One drought response calls for the following voluntary water conservation efforts:
  • Limit outdoor watering to twice a week between the hours of 7PM and 5AM with the following schedule:
    • Sundays & Thursdays for single-family residential customers with even-numbered street addresses
    • Saturdays and Wednesdays for single-family residential customers with odd-numbered street addresses
    • Tuesdays and Fridays for all other customers
  • Check & repair water leaks, including dripping faucets & running toilets
  • Check sprinkler heads to make sure water is not spraying into the street or directly into a storm drain and/or gutters
Additional tips to conserve water:
  • Grass needs less water than you think to stay healthy. Use the free WaterMyYard.org app to obtain watering recommendations tailored to your location and type of sprinkler system.
  • Avoid washing sidewalks, patio furniture, or cars.
  • Run dishwashers and clothes washers only when full.
  • Take shorter showers.
  • Install a rain barrel and use it for outdoor watering.
Please share this information with your family, friends, and neighbors. Your efforts to conserve water help Houston’s resiliency for the future.

About The Shadow Oaks Community

Shadow Oaks is a west Houston community in Spring Branch, defined by well-built 50's-60's era homes, with large lots and a canopy of mature growth trees. Conveniently located just inside Beltway 8 and just north of I-10, Shadow Oaks is only a 20 minute drive from downtown, and close to many restaurants and shopping venues.

The large NobHill park is at the heart of the neighborhood with its walking trails, playground , and baseball/soccer field. The Shadow Oaks subdivision is serious about its deed restrictions. They are strictly enforced with the intention of maintaining property value, and ultimately the quality of living in this lovely neighborhood.

Citizens On Patrol Program

You want your family to live in a safe community. Why not consider doing your part by joining COP? Volunteers report suspicious activity while enjoying a nice drive through the neighborhood.
